What Malakoff is like to build in

SH 31 runs through the center of town, about 3 miles south of Cedar Creek Reservoir. Lignite was found here in 1912 and mining was the county's biggest industry for decades, and now the lake and acreage drive the work.

City of Malakoff. Henderson County outside the limits. Old lignite mine ground around town can carry fill and settlement history worth checking.

Sandy loam over clay, with reclaimed mine ground in places. A soils report finds what the surface hides.
